Westray RNLI Scarecrow Trail underway

Date: 19 July 2022

Series of photos showing scarecrows on the RNLI fundraiser trail.

OIC Kalisgarth Care Centre staff Isla Bain and Helen Bain have received another fantastic response to their Westray RNLI Scarecrow Trail.

They organised the successful fundraiser last year – which saw around 40 entries and raised more than £1,000 for the cause.

This year there are 41 scarecrow entries with a film theme – so keep a look out all over the island for the likes of Spiderman, the Minions, Joseph and his amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat…even the Black Knight from Monty Python and the Holy Grail.

They will be on display from 16 July until 20 August.

Folk pay £5 to enter and the public can vote for their favourite for £1 – money raised goes to the RNLI. An independent judge will also choose a winner.

Head along to the local shops to cast your vote and you will also be entered into a prize draw.
