New ticket machines switched on in car parks

Date: 29 March 2022

New ticket machines have been installed in Council car parks, offering new contactless and ‘chip and pin’ card payment options.

The machines also accept coins and will be operational by 9am Wednesday (30 March).

The new machines are fully funded by the Scottish Government Place Based Investment Programme Capital Fund.

Drivers should simply follow the instructions on the display screen of the new machines – you will be asked to check your tariff and enter your vehicle registration.

To obtain a one hour ticket during periods of free parking, simply press the green button.

Otherwise insert coins or pay by card and press the green button for your ticket.

Display your ticket clearly in your windscreen.

To cancel a transaction, press the red button.
