Westray Junior High - United with Ukraine

Sssssshhhhhhh….Westray Junior High staff and pupils are keeping quiet about their fundraiser for Ukraine!

S1-3 pupils will be participating in an all-day silence on Tuesday 8 March, beginning at  9am and finishing at 3.45pm including interval and lunchtime.

The S4 pupils will be given the opportunity to write a letter collectively to Orkney’s local MSP and MP asking them to support the people of Ukraine.

The school are not asking for sponsors, but rather for monetary donations to be made.  A couple of donation tubs will be available at the front door for any member of the community who wishes to make a donation.  Donation tubs will be there until Friday 11 March.  Some pupils have asked if they can make a personal donation so a donation tub will be available in the French classroom for those who wish to do that.

The young people have chosen to donate funds raised through the Save the Children appeal.
