Aurrida House at the Blue Door next week – donations welcome

Aurrida House will be in the Blue Door next week ( Monday 7 March) raising funds for the children and young people’s comfort fund.

The fund enables the purchase of sensory toys and specialist equipment for those children and young people with additional support needs who attend at the respite care facility in Kirkwall.

Aurrida House Manager, Sally Flett, said: “Aurrida has been allocated a slot at the Blue Door in the past  which has always been a great success. The fund not only buys the toys and equipment mentioned but is also used to purchase birthday and Christmas presents, and items for other celebrations throughout the year. In addition, the funds allow us to offer a range of activities which promote inclusion and opportunities for young people using Aurrida to be take part in community-based activities.”

Aurrida will be running a raffle in the Blue Door throughout next week so any donations would be gratefully received from Monday onwards and raffle tickets can be purchased throughout the week.
