A986 between Grimeston Road to Refuge Corner – from 7 Feb, for 7 weeks

Reconstruction and resurfacing works are being undertaken over a substantial length of the A986 between Grimeston Road and Refuge Corner from Monday 7 February for up to seven weeks. Although the majority of works will be carried out under traffic lights, there may be short durations when the road will be closed to carry out works safely.

 

New Scapa Road - from 7 February for 2 weeks. 

There will be road closures on New Scapa Road, bringing changes to access to the COVID-19 Assessment and Vaccination Centres, and some impacts on buses. Find out more in our recent press release.

 

Broad Street and Palace Roads – from 21 Feb (1 week)

Looking ahead - Works on Broad Street and Palace Road starting are scheduled to begin on 21 Feb. The full length of Broad Street and the section of Palace Road up to Watergate are being resurfaced – full closures will be in place and works are expected to take one week. We'll provide more detail in due course via our OIC Updates Facebook page and www.orkney.gov.uk/news and local press.
