Central Kirkwall road works update for Thursday 20 January

A quick update on the investigative road works in central Kirkwall from tomorrow, Thursday 20 January, including impacts on bus services.

Contractors are expecting to be on Junction Road tomorrow, Thursday 20 January as the programme of investigative road works continue.

Junction Road will be closed between Tanknerness Lane and Pickaquoy Road (ie from the Job Centre to McEwens). Any bus services affected by closures of Junction Road between Castle Street and the roundabout with Pickaquoy Road will be diverted via Great Western Road and Pickaquoy Road, with the Tesco bus stop still being served.

Drivers are reminded parking in West Castle Street is suspended until further notice.

Dependent on progress on Junction Road, contractors may also be carrying out some work on West Tankerness Lane on Thursday - with road closures in place to carry out the works safely.
