Hatston HWRC to reopen after cable damage

Orkney Islands Council's household waste and recycling centre (HWRC) in Hatston will reopen as normal from 08:00 tomorrow, Tuesday 30 November.

The HWRC was forced to close on Friday 25 November due to damage to an electrical cable in Storm Arwen's high winds.

The site was closed over the weekend  - the necessary repairs and checks have now been carried out. 

The Council apologises for any inconvenience this may have caused residents over the weekend, and thanks the public for their patience as the safety issue was resolved.
