The KGS under 14 football team got their 2021/22 Scottish Schools' Football Association Shield campaign underway with a stunning victory in Aberdeen against Albyn School.

Last Wednesday 10 November, the boys travelled from Kirkwall and spent the night on the Hjaltland. The match kicked off the next day at 10am in Milltimber. They're pictured above in a pre-match photo.

After a hesitant first 20 minutes, Ashton Sutherland scored the first goal for KGS. A second one quickly followed from the same player confirming the team's domination. KGS added 2 more goals in the second half, Kian Vendy scoring from long range and Hunter Swanney tapping the ball in the net.

The boys would like to thank Orkney Fisheries Association who provided the squad with training tops. The team would also like to thank NorthLink for their sponsorship and their excellent onboard service. We are also very grateful to Albyn School's staff and pupils for making our boys feel welcome and providing the team with transport and packed lunches.
